What's the difference between Sanskrit and Hindi?
Both are written in Devanagari script. Sanskrit is the classical language of yoga, mantras and ancient texts; Hindi is a modern spoken language. This necklace is designed for Sanskrit words and spiritual names — for a Hindi name, see our Hindi Name Necklace.

Can I order a mantra or more than one word?
Yes — short phrases work well. For the best proportions keep it to about 2–12 letters; longer mantras can be split across layered necklaces.

I don't read Devanagari. Can I still order?
Yes. Write the word in English with "please translate" — we'll set it in Sanskrit and confirm the spelling with you before we make it.

Is it a good yoga teacher gift?

Gold vermeil is a thick layer of real 14K gold over solid 925 sterling silver. Gold-plated jewelry usually has a much thinner layer over brass or other base metals, so vermeil lasts longer and is kinder to sensitive skin.
