We engrave the date exactly as you type it, so choose your format — for example 09.07.1999, 09/07/1999 or 9.7.99. Keep the heart text short (about 6 characters or fewer — a name, an initial or a word like Love, Mom, Mama). Then choose color, length and chain style. Please double-check the date and spelling before ordering.

Which date format should I use?
Any format you like — we engrave it exactly as written. US customers often use month first (07.09.1999), while day first (09.07.1999) is common elsewhere, so type it the way you read it.

Can I put something other than a date on the bar?
Yes — a short word, name or Roman numerals work too. Message us if you're unsure it will fit.

What dates do people usually choose?

Can I choose the engraving font?
Both pieces are engraved in one classic font chosen because it stays crisp and readable on small charms.

What is gold vermeil, and is it better than gold-plated?
Gold vermeil is a thick layer of real 14K gold over solid 925 sterling silver. Gold-plated jewelry usually has a much thinner layer over brass or other base metals, so vermeil lasts longer and is kinder to sensitive skin.
