The nameplate is smooth and the stones are prong-set, but little hands love to pull. We recommend a shorter length (16") with a baby, and taking it off for sleep.

Are the stones real diamonds?
No — the stones are cubic zirconia (CZ), a lab-made simulated stone with a bright, diamond-like sparkle, set on real sterling silver and 14K gold vermeil.

What is gold vermeil, and is it better than gold-plated?
Gold vermeil is a thick layer of real 14K gold over solid 925 sterling silver. Gold-plated jewelry usually has a much thinner layer over brass or other base metals, so vermeil lasts longer and is kinder to sensitive skin.

Will it tarnish?
Sterling silver and gold vermeil are made to last. Take it off before showering, swimming or using hand sanitizer and lotions, and store it dry to keep it shining.
